Selon le mythe grec, Atalante coureuse exceptionnelle, ne voulut prendre pour époux que celui qui arriverait à la battre à la course. Bien des prétendants s’y essayèrent, et échouèrent… Il fallut qu’une déesse, Aphrodite, vienne en aide à Hippomène pour que celui-ci puisse gagner la course tant Atalante était une sportive imbattable !
