. 🇫🇷 Mercredi, c’est #HistoireDuLouvre! - ✍️ Ce tableau, intitulé « Au Louvre », a été réalisé en 1894 par Etienne Azambre. Nous y voyons deux femmes copiant l’une des deux fresques de Botticelli « Jeune Fille recevant les présents de Vénus et des Grâces » exposées sur le palier de l’escalier Daru, aujourd’hui salle Percier et Fontaine. - 👀 Les fresques de Botticelli passionnèrent les artistes dès leur installation au Louvre, comme le prouve l’abondante liste des copistes (dont beaucoup d’étrangers, surtout des femmes) qui s’intéressèrent à ces œuvres entre 1893 et 1912. - 🖼 Etienne Azambre, le peintre, exposait régulièrement au Salon entre 1883 et 1901. Elève de Bouguereau et de Robert-Fleury, il était surtout connu pour ses compositions religieuses d’inspiration mystique. - - - - 🌍 Wednesday it’s #LouvreHistory! - ✍️ This painting, entitled "At the Louvre", was painted in 1894 by Etienne Azambre. You can see two women copying one of Botticelli's two frescoes "Young Girl Receiving the Gifts of Venus and the Graces" displayed on the landing of the Daru Staircase, now the Percier et Fontaine Room. - 👀 Botticelli's frescoes fascinated artists from the moment they settled in the Louvre, as shown by the abundant list of copyists (many of whom were foreigners, especially women) who took an interest in these works between 1893 and 1912. - 🖼 Etienne Azambre, the painter, regularly exhibited at the Salon between 1883 and 1901.
